Updates:
Also known as “Status Updates” – basically a short statement or comment about what you’re currently up to, or something you need to rant or brag about. They are not intended for discussion, per se but can be replied to.
Activity:
The Activity link shows you what’s been happening on the site since you last visited. The latest thing – or Activity – that happened appears at the top and works its way down chronologically. Whatever happens appears on this page; if someone creates or replies to a discussion, joins a group, makes a friend, or posts an update … it’s all there.
Groups:
Groups are where all the discussion happens. We encourage the creation and participation in Forums within Groups, rather than just adding an Update, but you can do either or both.
Groups have “common themes” or topics, where discussions on or around that topic happen.
Forums:
Forums are “threads of discussion” where you can start a conversation, debate, topic to generate chat, whatever. They provide other subscribers and members with the opportunity to reply and create dialogue between participants.
Profile:
This is the bit that tells other subscribers and members about you. You can add as little or as much information as you feel comfortable with.
